The Binaba Shop, located in Roanoke’s downtown market, is a volunteer-run, nonprofit African gift shop. The shop sells one-of-a-kind masks from Congo, hand-crafted carvings, household items, furniture, fabric and baskets. Proceeds benefit two critical needs in the Upper East Region of Ghana: basic medical care, and development of an alternative means of livelihood for a village suffering from the loss of farming. Proceeds also support local education programs in Roanoke and promote diversity in our region.
We are in the process of setting up our storefront. It will feature artwork, musical instruments, sculptures, and many one-of-a-kind items only found in Africa.
